Paper Majik...

Yes, we'd say that a card growing into a plant is pretty magical... that's why we're loving the new seeded recycled paper cards from Paper Majik.  Peel off the shape on the cover to reveal plantable seeds!
Skrapmonkey's Latest

You've seen his welded scrap metal planters and candle holders, now try these on for size: necklaces and earrings!
If you see a piece you like, swipe it up now because after having them in the shop for a few weeks we've learned that they don't hang around here for very long!

Quiz: What materials are used in the new bags at Foundry?
A. Book covers
B. Bike inner tube
C. Reclaimed hand-woven skirts from Guatemala
D. All three
If you said "D. All three" you are correct!

Don't stay home reading a book, take these darling Book Bags by Meridith Michell out on the town with you!  Hard cover books lined with reclaimed fabric definitely have something to say.

The Ravenna is back, along with the new re-designed Mercer bag from Alchemy Goods.

This summer we met Lizzy, of Be Harmony who splits her time between Guatemala and Asheville, and works with Mayan families making these re-useable shopping bags.  Every bag has a handy attached sack for stuffing the bag into when not in use, and the textile was once a Mayan women's skirt!
New Artists:
Deck Specks

At Foundry we LOVE function, and that's what you get with these sunglasses handmade from recycled skateboard decks.  Their custom display shows the wear and tear of the well-loved boards, and the sunglasses show the skill of their craft. Deck Specks come from some amazing skateboarding woodworkers in Atlanta, GA.
First Thursday Craft Night:

Foundry Featured in GreenCraft Magazine!

Hitting shelves on August 1st is the autumn issue of GreenCraft magazine, a national publication from Stampington & Co. that features “Upholstery Sample Tablescapes”, a four-page spread written by Natalie Hood and Shelly Piper of Foundry, featuring their original handmade napkin rings and coasters. GreenCraft “honors and inspires those who fine artistic, functional and ecologically chic applications for normally discarded resources”. It is this type of purposeful ingenuity that GreenCraft acknowledges and that thrives in western North Carolina.  To read the article in its entirety click below.  Enjoy!
